11th Annual Boise to Idaho City MTB Tour
June 21-22, 2008 We invite you to join us as we
provide a fully supported weekend of touring, fun,
cycling and socializing.
The route remains the same as
years past, (the execption is the baby head rock road into Idaho
City-2004:-). On the return trip to Boise are some additional side
routes of
single-track fun for the core riders. This adds miles and elevation to
the route. This Tour is about 45 miles each way on Moderate to Easy double-track dirt and some short sections of paved Roads. You should be in good shape able to pedel for two or more hours between rest stops. The sag wagon is always available for a lift. There are two snack stops each day. One before Lunch and one after. Port-a-Poty Toilets will be at the rest/snack stops at lunch and at the camp site. The Tour route brings you to the camp site before reaching town. Camping is near the High School Football Field. You may collect your gear set up camp and shower before Dinner. Showers and Dinner are a short bike ride from the camp site. When arriving in Idaho City showers are at the High School. Take the first street to the right past the Funky Junk House. Signs will point the way to the Showers and the Historical Society Museum Park where Dinner will be served. Dinner in Idaho City is at the Historical Museum Park a few blocks from the High School in down town Idaho City. Breakfast on Sunday will be catered by Trudy's Kitchen at the Restaurant a block further past the Hisorical Museum. Plan to rise at 6:00 AM on Sunday. Get your riding gear together and ride your bike down to town for Breakfast is served from 7-8 AM at Trudy's Kitchen Restaurant. We generously tip Trudy and her staff so you can enjoy the fine food and service. The ride to Boise starts as soon as you finish Breakfast. Ride the few blocks towards the High School and out of town on a well marked route. The Lunch will be at the same Clear Creek Lodge. The remainder of the return trip will trace the route back to Boise. Entering Boise you will return to the Fort Boise Armory Start/Finish to pick up your gear by 5 PM. An after party will be at Satchel's Grill (on Bannack near 8th street) in downtown Boise. Transporttation and parking is on your own. We suggest car pooling from Fort Boise Armory to Satchel's Grill. Snacks beverages and Awards are sponsored by Nextel Partners and Trimble Outdoors. The Full Tour includes: Boise to Idaho
