Bio for Harley has a Bachelor of Arts in Recreational Therapy from San Francisco State University and a Masters of Science Degree in Educational Technology from Boise State University. When not riding with his two Australian Shepherd trail dogs, Cookie and Harry, Harley makes a living as a Computer Systems Analyst. Harley has been exposed to many facets of the mountain bike world through his travels downunder in Australia, Europe and his more than 20 years retail experience where he worked as a professional MTB guide in Moab, UT and Idaho. In the early 1990's, he managed a group of racers in the World Cup and NORBA race series, traveling the US and Europe, finishing at the 1991 Worlds in Italy. Harley moved to Idaho in 1985 and began to represent bicyclists on the Board of the Idaho Trails Council from 1987 until 1994. Some of his accomplishments include participation in establishing a trail maintenance trust fund in Sun Valley Idaho, and establishing the Boise Foothills Open Space 10 Million Dollar Tax initiative. Recently, Harley established a Bicycle School Mountain Bike Program, through a grant, purchasing a trailer and 12 bikes outfitted with helmets and tools. The program travels to schools to benefit disadvantaged kids by teaching mountain bike skills and ethics. For more see www.swimba.org |
